Establishing Roll on Turf:
Soil preparation – Is the most important step in lawn establishment. Remove weeds and debris. Layer Seasol Lawn Top Dress Mix minimum 50mm thick over soil surface. Dig into existing soil to a depth of 200mm or use as a top-dressing soil on its own and rake smooth. Level soil and apply Seasol Super Soil Wetter & Conditioner before lawn is laid.
Laying turf – Apply Seasol Lawn + Soil Booster at recommended rates. Lay turf as soon as possible to avoid drying out. Lay edges close together to avoid gaps and ensure clean cuts to fit curves and angles.
Watering – Water in thoroughly after laying with Seasol Lawn & Turf Starter. Repeat watering at regular intervals if laying turf in warm weather. Continue to monitor soil moisture levels and water as required. (Local water guidelines and restrictions may vary).
Compacting – After laying turf, roll with a heavy roller or plate compacter to ensure root system is in contact with the soil and the turf is level.
Top Dress – Apply a fine layer of Seasol Lawn Top Dress where rolls join to prevent drying out and fill in any gaps.
Apply Seasol Lawn Care after lawn has been growing for 4 weeks.
Establishing Lawn by Seed:
Seed Bed – Prepare a fine seedbed by removing weeds and any rocks and debris. If the area contains old turf, dig it out. Loosen soil and add up to 30mm layer of Seasol Lawn Top Dress Mix and Seasol Lawn + Soil Booster. Dig into the soil at a depth of 200mm, rake smooth and level seedbed. Can also be used as a soil on its own. Scatter lawn seed and gently rake lightly. First, rake one way and then the other. This will ensure even coverage of seeds. Keeping seedbed moist is important as seeds are close to the soil surface. Lightly water with Seasol Lawn & Turf Starter and avoiding runoff is important for the first 2 weeks. If establishing in the warmer months, monitor soil moisture levels closely. At 4 weeks apply Seasol Lawn Care and continue with fortnightly applications throughout the warmer months, from August to May. Seasol Lawn Care strengthens root systems, builds resistance to disease, and ensures good winter colour.
